Stefanie Rübensaal (*1985, Zürich) ist eine in Zürich lebende Künstlerin, die in den Bereichen Schreiben, Grafik, Video, Installation und Performance tätig ist. Ihre Praxis ist intuitiv, experimentell und interdisziplinär; sie verarbeitet Eindrücke der Seele und untersucht, wie persönliche Erfahrungen in universelle Essenzen übersetzt werden können.
Aufgewachsen in Zufikon, Schweiz, lebte sie von 2004 bis 2013 in Heidelberg, von 2013 bis 2019 in Hamburg und von 2019 bis Ende 2023 in Rostock, Deutschland, bevor sie 2024 nach Zürich zurückkehrte. Ihre Arbeiten wurden in der Schweiz und international präsentiert und zeichnen sich durch eine prozessorientierte, forschende Herangehensweise aus, die Ideen, Materialien und digitale Formate miteinander verwebt.
Neben ihrer eigenen künstlerischen Praxis engagiert sich Stefanie Rübensaal kontinuierlich in kollektiv organisierten Kunsträumen, Projekträumen und Offspaces. Dort wirkt sie in unterschiedlichen Rollen – von der Organisation und Koordination über kuratorische Mitarbeit bis hin zur künstlerischen Leitung. So war sie beispielsweise von 2011 bis 2013 in den breidenbach studios in Heidelberg aktiv, engagierte sich von 2020 bis 2022 im Projektraum besser als nichts in Rostock und ist seit 2023 im Wartsaal Wipkingen in Zürich tätig. In diesen Kontexten trägt sie zur Entwicklung unabhängiger künstlerischer Strukturen bei und versteht diese Räume als Orte des Dialogs, der Kollaboration und der experimentellen Produktion.

Stefanie Rübensaal (b. 1985, Zurich) is an artist based in Zurich who works across the fields of writing, graphic, video, installation and performance. Her practice is intuitive, experimental and interdisciplinary; she processes impressions of the soul and explores how personal experiences can be translated into universal essences.
Raised in Zufikon, Switzerland, she lived in Heidelberg from 2004 to 2013, in Hamburg from 2013 to 2019 and in Rostock, Germany, from 2019 until the end of 2023, before returning to Zurich in 2024. Her works have been presented in Switzerland and internationally and are characterised by a process-oriented, exploratory approach that interweaves ideas, materials and digital formats.
Alongside her own artistic practice, Stefanie Rübensaal is continuously involved in collectively organised art spaces, project spaces and off-spaces. There she takes on various roles – ranging from organisation and coordination to curatorial work and artistic direction. For example, she was active at the breidenbach studios in Heidelberg from 2011 to 2013, was involved in the besser als nichts project space in Rostock from 2020 to 2022, and has been working at the Wartsaal Wipkingen in Zurich since 2023. In these contexts, she contributes to the development of independent artistic structures and views these spaces as places for dialogue, collaboration and experimental production.
