« Simone III » und « Simone IV »
Giampaolo Russo widmet sich der Malerei, Druckgrafik und Zeichnung.
Im Rahmen von «The Open Time Capsule» zeigt er Einblick in seine Werkserie «Simone», Kohle/Graphit auf Papier. Zwischen 2023 und Ende 2025 hat er Simone in rund 74 Sitzungen porträtiert. Die über die Zeit gewachsene, intensive Auseinandersetzung mit dem lebenden Modell ist für ihn eine Suche nach dessen innerem Wesen, seinen Widersprüchen und Facetten. Im fortwährenden Dialog entdeckt er immer wieder einen Teil dieses Menschen in der Zeichnung oder auf der Leinwand.

“Simone III” and “Simone IV”
Giampaolo Russo works across painting, printmaking, and drawing.
As part of “The Open Time Capsule”, he presents a selection from his “Simone” series, charcoal and graphite on paper. Between 2023 and the end of 2025, he portrayed Simone in around 74 sessions. For him, this intensive engagement with the living model, developed over time, is a search for her inner essence, contradictions, and different facets. Through their ongoing dialogue, he repeatedly discovers aspects of this person emerging in the drawing or on the canvas.
